2020 Sedona Events

Event: Pepsi-Cola Taylor House Century Ride

Date: July 18 2020 – Saturday

Event Time: 7:00am to 3:00pm

Event Description:
The 20th annual Pepsi-Cola Taylor House Century Bike Ride benefiting The Taylor House continues its tradition of riding the Sunset Crater and Wupatki National Monument loop. Plan to participate in the 30 mile, 45 mile, 65 mile or 95 mile bike ride with participants from around the region. All routes wind through historic Flagstaff then head to the scenic lava flows and Painted Desert of northern Arizona.

Please Note: The Taylor House is on the front line of supporting Northern Arizona Healthcare staff and patients, providing housing and services for displaced healthcare workers, patients, and families. Funds raised at the century ride contribute to these services and the health of our communities.

Event: Sedona Hummingbird Festival

Dates: July 31 – August 2, 2020

Event Description:
Sedona Hummingbird Festival, which is in our opinion,
the most beautiful place in America to see hummingbirds.
This festival celebrates the peak hummingbird population with
interesting & educational presentations, tours of gardens and
hummingbird hotspots, with a hummer/nature shopping mall.
There will be banding demonstrations & birding trips.
Note:The festival is sponsored by the
International Hummingbird Society.

Presentations: 3 days of presentations by hummingbird experts
from around the world in the modern, air-conditioned
Performing Arts Center (SPAC).

“Birds & Blooms” Hummingbird Garden Tours: Each ticket valid for
two days (Saturday and Sunday), permitting a self-guided garden
visit at your own schedule one or both days. We are pleased to
again have Birds & Blooms Magazine as a Platinum level corporate sponsor this year!

Gala Banquet Celebration: A delightful highlight of the 3-day event Saturday evening, with dinner and good times, including a special slide show.

Banding Demonstration: A tiny numbered band is attached to a
hummingbird’s leg so that its movements can be scientifically
followed! You will never forget seeing tiny hummingbirds up close–
and maybe even being chosen to release one after it is banded.
Exhibits (free): The Hummingbird Marketplace (exhibitors and
vendors area), held in the lobby of the Sedona Performing Arts
Center, with easy access to shopping opportunities for “everything hummingbird.” No admission fee!

Food Concession: An outside caterer
will provide a lunchtime menu.

Birding Trips: Birders have the opportunity to visit different
habitats; tickets are reasonably priced, but reservations are
required because of extremely limited capacity. Trips are led by the Northern Arizona Audubon Society. Bring your binoculars. Don’t wear dress shoes. These are the most sought-after tickets. Order tickets early. All trips start at the Sedona Performing Arts Center parking lot at 6:30 am and we recommend you arrive early.

Event: Sedona WagFest & Fair

Date: September 19, 2020

Event Time: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Event Description:
Dogs and dog lovers are invited to the 3rd Annual WagFest & Fair. WagFest & Fair is the perfect day out for dogs and their humans. This canine event will feature booths where you can shop and learn from the area’s best dog-related product & service providers. Demonstrations & contests will be scheduled throughout the event.

For the safety of the dogs and owners,
please observe the
following rules:

All dogs must be current on vaccinations.
All dogs must be kept on a leash.
All dog handlers must be 18 years or older
and supervise dogs at all times.
Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs.

Event: Christmas in the Park

Date: December 12, 2020

Event Description:
Christmas in the Park is the Museum’s annual gift to the community
and visitors. Our traditional tumbleweed snowman will greet you.
Enjoy hot cider and cookies, vintage holiday decorations, a fire in
the fireplace and ‘make & take’ a cornhusk doll. There will be holiday
entertainment. Items will be on sale in the Museum Gift Shop.

Cost: Adults: $10.00 with Audio, $7.00 Self-Guided
Children (under 13): $3.00 with Audio, Free Self-Guided
