October 9 – October 10: Led by acclaimed authors, inspiring luminaries and celebrities, the Woman Arising event is an opportunity for women to take a personal journey to Sedona ndash; one of the most glorious spots in the world ndash; and delve deeper into the meaning of their lives, honor their own stories, and find tools to help them live their full potential.
Third Annual Festival of Native American Culture
September 30th – October 4th: The Verde Valley Archaeology Center announced the third annual Festival of Native American Culture held from September 30 through October 4. The Festival has two tracks that include Native American Culture and Archaeology.
Grand Canyon Association Presents A Grand Canyon Celebration of Art
September 10th through November 27th: The Grand Canyon Association is pleased to announce the 3rd Annual Grand Canyon Celebration of Art on the North and South Rims of Grand Canyon National Park. This event features thirty artists from around the country who will engage in a plein air competition and exhibition.
Sedona Heritage Museum T-Shirt Exhibit
Through September 15th: The Sedona Heritage Museum will present a new changing exhibit for the summer months with a light-hearted theme. T-shirts: Messages of Sedona features t-shirts from the Museum #39;s own Collection.
Fiesta del Tlaquepaque
September 10th: Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village presents its 38th Fiesta del Tlaquepaque, on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Celebrating Mexican Independence Day with music, dance, food and fun activities for kids. Admission is free. Be sure to bring the whole family. Fiesta is one of Sedona #39;s signature events, and a popular weekend get-way for folks in the hotter climes.
Grand Archaeology Exhibit on Excavation Project Along the Colorado River
Through September 7th: Excavation and Discovery Along the Colorado River, an exhibit highlighting archaeological excavations that took place between 2007 and 2009 along the Colorado River, is open at Kolb Studio on the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park. The exhibit consists of interpretive panels, artifacts recovered during the excavation, representative tools the crews used during excavation, and an interactive virtual tour.
Full Measure – The Artistic Legacy of Bruce Aiken
Through September 6th: Of the many artists who have focused their creative energy on depicting the Grand Canyon, none have developed as intimate of a relationship with this subject as Bruce Aiken. He immersed himself in the Canyon #39;s epic grandeur and his ability to translate that grandeur into paintings has become his legacy.
Sedona Heritage Museum Participates in Blue Star Museum Program
Through September 5th: The Sedona Heritage Museum is proud to announce that it will once again participate in the Blue Star Museums program that offers free admission to museums for all active duty military personnel and their families through Labor Day, September 5.
Giant Snake Show at Out of Africa Wildlife Park
Weekdays at 2:15 pm: Giant Snake Show at Out of Africa Wildlife Park lets you wrap-up with the world rsquo;s largest species of snakes: Anacondas, Pythons and Boas! With the help of a Park Caretaker, you will be allowed to touch, pet and even hold some of these wonderful giant slithering reptiles.
Tiger Splash at Out of Africa Wildlife Park
Weekdays at 1:15 pm: Tiger Splash Show at Out of Africa Wildlife Park lets you watch Bengal and Siberian tigers and other big cats interact in a predator/prey relationship of romping and splashing in a 35-foot by 50-foot pool.
